Built In pricing and Built In job posting cost for employers hiring a marketer
Built In does not print a price anywhere a buyer can read it before signing up. What the market reports is two numbers that are a hundred times apart: a single job slot at about $69 to $99 a month in the Built In city hubs, and an annual partnership with a median of $15,847 a year across 183 purchases logged by a procurement site.

The short answer

The plans
How Built In actually charges for a job post
Built In sells three things to US employers and prints a price for none of them. Each card says what is reported, where the number comes from, and where the bill grows past it.
Job Post (job slot)
Reported $69 to $99 a month
Monthly per slot, priced by city hub
One job listed on Built In and the regional hub site for that city, with a basic company profile. Reported at $69 a month in Austin, Boston, Colorado, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and $99 in Chicago, New York City and Seattle. Bundles of 3 jobs are reported at $199 to $249 a month.
The catch: The price is only shown after you create an employer account, so every figure is a third party report. A slot is tied to a hub, so a remote marketing role you want seen in two cities can mean two slots.
Free ATS integration
Listed at no additional cost
Cross posting from your tracker
Built In connects to trackers such as Greenhouse, Lever and Workday and cross posts your open jobs automatically, keeping the listings in sync as roles open and close.
The catch: Built In lists it as no additional cost but does not say on that page whether it needs a paid slot or membership behind it. Ask before you count it as a free channel.
Premium Partnership
Reported median $15,847 a year
Annual contract, quoted on a demo
Unlimited promoted jobs, a premium employer profile, employer branded content and a dedicated customer success team. Vendr reports a range of $8,500 to $40,880 a year and a median of $15,847 across 183 purchases.
The catch: It is a year of budget agreed before the first applicant. Auto renewal is reported as standard, with 5% to 10% yearly increases unless capped in the order form.
Employer branding package
Reported $40,000 to $100,000 or more
Annual, add on or bundle
Sponsored content, editorial features and company profiles aimed at tech candidates, plus the Best Places to Work program that Built In runs each year.
The catch: This is brand spend, not a job ad. It can be worth it for a company competing for engineers. For one marketing hire it is the wrong budget line.
Priced by situation
What Built In costs for a real hiring situation
Every Built In figure in this grid is reported, not published. Slot prices come from third party job board listings, and contract values come from Vendr, which logged 183 Built In purchases with a median of $15,847 a year. The per hire rows divide that median by the marketing hires you make in a year, so read the row that matches your plan.
| Your situation | Built In, reported | MarketerJob, published | What drives it |
|---|---|---|---|
| One marketing role, one hub, 30 days | Reported $69 to $99 | $149 a month | Built In wins this row if a self serve slot is still sold in your city. The audience is tech workers in that hub, so it fits a product marketing or growth role at a software company better than a brand role at a retailer. |
| One marketing role, one hub, 90 days | Reported $207 to $297 | $447 over three months | Still cheaper on the slot price, as long as the role really stays inside one hub and the slot is bought month to month rather than as part of a partnership. |
| Median partnership, 1 marketing hire in the year | About $15,847 a hire | $1,788 for a year of one role | This is where most Built In buyers actually land, because the sales path leads to the annual contract. If marketing is the only function hiring, the partnership is a very expensive job ad. |
| Median partnership, 3 marketing hires | About $5,282 a hire | $999 a month, unlimited | Three roles open in the same year still leaves each hire above $5,000, which is in the range of a contingency recruiter fee on a junior marketer. |
| Median partnership, 12 hires across engineering and marketing | About $1,321 a hire | Marketing roles only | Built In wins this row. A software company filling a dozen tech roles a year gets a defined, falling cost per hire and one employer brand across every function. We only list marketing roles. |
| Year two at the reported renewal increase | $16,640 to $17,432 | $149 a month, cancel anytime | Auto renewal plus a 5% to 10% uplift raises the contract whether or not hiring slowed. Negotiate a cap, or a cancellation window, before you sign year one. |
Built In is the only platform in this family that sells two completely different products under one name: a self serve job slot priced like a small job board, and an annual partnership priced like enterprise software. Most pages that rank for Built In pricing quote one and never mention the other, which is how the same search returns $69 and $40,000. If a recruiter or search firm is the other quote on your desk, the fees are broken down on marketing recruiter fees, and the startup network most Built In buyers also look at is priced on Wellfound pricing. The full picture across every US platform sits on job posting cost by platform, the flat rate case against this one is on our Built In alternative page, and all thirteen platforms are compared side by side on where to post a marketing role.
Read the meter
Four billing details that decide your final Built In invoice
The contract value is only the first number. These four mechanics decide what a Built In partnership costs by year two, and none of them appears before the demo call.
The price arrives after the demo
Built In prints no price for a slot or a partnership. The slot price appears inside an employer account, and the partnership is quoted by sales. There is nothing to compare against until you are already in a buying conversation.
Auto renewal is the default
Vendr reports annual agreements with auto renewal as standard and renewal increases of 5% to 10% a year unless negotiated. Start renewal talks 60 to 90 days before the date, and ask for a written cap of 5% or less.
Content and premium placements bill separately
Video, design and custom editorial can be charged on top of a partnership, and premium placements are reported at $5,000 to $20,000 or more. Get a list of what the base package includes, in writing, before comparing it to any other channel.
Discounts exist, but only if you ask
Reported discounts run 10% to 20% on job posting packages and 20% to 30% on multi year deals. A multi year term also locks a year of budget you may not need if marketing hiring slows.
An honest read
When paying Built In is worth it, and when it is not
We sell job posts, so treat this section with the scepticism it deserves and check it against your own last three searches. Three of these six say do not spend the money, because on the wrong role that is the correct answer.
Worth paying for
You hire many tech roles a year
A software company filling engineering, product, sales and marketing roles in a Built In hub gets one partnership for every function. At twelve hires a year the median contract is about $1,321 a hire, a fair price for that audience.
Worth paying for
Employer brand is the real problem
If candidates do not know your company, the premium profile, branded content and Best Places to Work program are what you are paying for. A plain job ad, ours included, does not do that job.
Worth paying for
A single slot is sold in your hub
If the self serve Job Post is still offered for your city at the reported $69 to $99 a month, it is a cheap way to put a product marketing role in front of local tech workers.
Save your money
Marketing is the only team hiring
An annual partnership divided by one or two marketing hires is $7,900 to $15,847 a hire at the median. That is recruiter money for a job ad.
Save your money
You are not a tech company
The audience is tech professionals in a handful of US hubs. A brand, retail, healthcare or agency marketing role speaks to the wrong pool, and the profile pages are built around tech culture.
Save your money
Finance needs a number before the call
Nothing on Built In is priced in public. If the hiring budget has to be approved before a vendor conversation, a published monthly price per role is the easier sign off.

The published alternative, one price, marketing roles only
MarketerJob lists marketing roles and nothing else, every card carries a USD salary band, and the price is on the site rather than behind a consultation. That is the whole trade against an auction: less reach, more certainty, and an audience that all does the job you are hiring for.
$149 / mo
One marketing role, live until you cancel, no auction running behind it.
$299 / mo
Featured placement, specialty spotlight and matched subscriber email, one live role a month.
$999
