CareerBuilder no longer has a separate employer price list. Its employer site now forwards to Monster, and a job you post through it is billed on Monster+ plans: Standard is pay per click from a daily budget that starts at a reported $8 a day per job, about $240 for 30 days, and Monster+ Pro is $299 a month, or $2,990 prepaid for a year, with resume search included. The $219 and $349 CareerBuilder listing prices still quoted around the web belong to plans that are gone.

We checked the redirect ourselves: the CareerBuilder employer address returns a permanent 301 to Monster's hiring site. The Pro price, the credit value and the resume view cost are published by Monster. The Standard daily figure has appeared at $8, $12 and $18 on different versions of Monster's pricing page, so treat it as reported.

CareerBuilder pricing for one marketing role

If you are budgeting a single marketing hire and someone on the team says "put it on CareerBuilder", this is what that request costs today. Every row runs through Monster's checkout, because that is where the CareerBuilder employer path ends.

What you buyWhat it costsWhat the price covers
One job, 30 days, Standard at the starting budgetReported $240, plus a one time $10Pay per click promotion; the $10 lands as 10 credits on your first job
One job, 14 days, Standard, then switched offReported $112, plus a one time $10The cheapest way to use the network if you already have candidates in play
Monster+ Pro, monthly$299 a month, published299 credits at $1 each for clicks and resume views, unlimited users
Monster+ Pro, prepaid year$2,990 a year, publishedThe same plan with about two months free against paying monthly

The full mechanics of the Monster side, including how one credit pool pays for both job ad clicks and resume views, are broken out on our Monster job posting cost page.

How much does it cost to post a job on CareerBuilder?

Posting a job through CareerBuilder now costs what a Monster+ promoted job costs: a daily budget you set per job, starting at a reported $8 a day on Standard, or a share of the 299 monthly credits on the $299 Pro plan. Your first promoted job carries a $10 upfront charge, applied as credits. Monster does not publish a cost per click.

That last point matters more than the daily figure. A daily budget tells you the most you will spend, not how many marketers will see the role. A competitive role in New York, Chicago or Austin usually needs more than the floor to stay visible, which is why older versions of the pricing page started at $12 and $18 a day.

Is CareerBuilder the same as Monster now?

For employers, effectively yes. CareerBuilder and Monster merged in 2024, filed for Chapter 11 together in June 2025, and Bold Holdings bought the combined job board business at auction that summer. Both brands still exist for job seekers, but the CareerBuilder employer site forwards to Monster's hiring site and sells Monster+ plans.

What Bold has not spelled out publicly is how far the two back ends have been merged. If resume database access is the reason you are buying, ask the sales rep in writing which candidate pool your search covers before you commit a year of budget.

Does CareerBuilder have free job posting?

No. Monster's US pricing page shows no free job posting plan, and the CareerBuilder employer path leads to that page. Promoted jobs on Standard are paid per click, Pro is a $299 monthly subscription, and the first promoted job carries a $10 charge. If you need a free listing, Indeed still publishes up to three free posts a month.

Free listings have their own cost, though. On a general board a marketing role draws applicants from every function, and somebody has to read them. Teams that rely on free or cheap general postings often end up adding a tool to screen every inbound resume against the role before a human looks at the pile, which is a real line item even when the post itself cost nothing.

How much is CareerBuilder resume search?

Resume search now comes through Monster+ Pro at $299 a month. Each resume view or action costs 2 credits, or $2, drawn from the same 299 monthly credits that pay for job ad clicks. If the whole pool went to search, that is 149 resume views a month before overages, which Monster bills at the start of the next period.

That shared pool is the trap. A recruiter who opens 75 profiles while building a shortlist has spent half the month's budget before anyone clicks on the job ad. Decide which job you are buying the plan for, sourcing or advertising, and watch the credit balance mid month.

Why the $219 and $349 CareerBuilder prices are out of date

Search for CareerBuilder pricing and you will still find comparison pages quoting a single job listing at about $219 a month or $349 a month. Those were CareerBuilder's own posting packages before the merger. They do not match anything on the current Monster+ pricing page, and the CareerBuilder employer address no longer serves a price list of its own. Budget against Monster's published plans, not those figures.

The same goes for old annual contracts. If your company signed a CareerBuilder package before the 2025 sale, check what the renewal invoice actually says. Ask which Monster+ plan the account now maps to and whether any prepaid balance carried over, and get the answer in an email you can show finance.

CareerBuilder vs other places to post a marketing role

Because CareerBuilder now prices like Monster, the useful comparison is Monster against the boards marketers actually browse. Here is how one marketing role lands on each, using published or widely reported figures.

PlatformCheapest paid way to promote one role for a monthFree option
CareerBuilder (Monster+)Reported about $240 on StandardNone
IndeedReported about $750 at a $25 a day sponsored floorUp to three free posts a month
WellfoundJob Ad from $200 per ad, publishedFree, unlimited posts
MarketerJob$149 a month, publishedNone for employers

Two things stand out. First, a promoted CareerBuilder or Monster job is cheaper per day than a sponsored Indeed job, which surprises most people; the side by side is in Monster vs Indeed pricing for employers. Second, if you are a startup, Wellfound's free post is hard to beat, and its paid add ons are priced on our Wellfound pricing page. Every platform is compared in one table on the job posting cost guide.

Is CareerBuilder worth it for hiring a marketer?

CareerBuilder is worth it if you hire across many functions and want one account for warehouse, sales and marketing roles, or if you need a resume database for outbound sourcing. For one marketing role open a month or longer, the reported Standard floor of about $240 is above a flat listing, and the audience is general rather than marketing.

Here is the honest split. Buy Monster+ through CareerBuilder when you will close the role inside two weeks and switch the promotion off, because a short pay per click burst beats any monthly subscription, ours included. Buy Pro when resume search is the job. Skip it when the role is a marketing specialty such as lifecycle, marketing operations or technical SEO, where candidates search by discipline and a general board makes you pay per click for browsers who were never a fit.

For that last case, a marketing role on a board searched only by marketers is a published $149 a month, live until you cancel, with no click meter and no credit pool to watch. You can post the role today and see it on the board in minutes.
